MUSHTAQ AHMAD YUSUFI (b. 1925?),
a banker by profession, is better known to the Urdu world as a
humorist and satirist par excellence. Several collections of his writings
have appeared to date: Chiragh Taale (1961), Khakam ba-Dahan
(1969), Zar-Guzashat (1976), and Ab-e Gum (1990). He
has received several honors and awards, among them the Sitara-e Imtiyaz,
the Hilal-e Imtiyaz, the Adamjee Award and the
Hijra Award. |
