20. DEATH

There were evenings
when he used to think
of the day he would leave this world
He used to imagine the night
when he would be surrounded by his dear ones
and Death would knock on his door
and he would welcome her
knowing
she would introduce
the mystery of his Being
to the Great Mystery of the Universe.
and the river of his life
will merge in the ocean of the Unknown
He was aware
that every human being
is a traveler
resting under a shady tree of life
for a short time
and then moving on
to unknown destinations
He had realized
human sufferings
are labor pains
while giving birth to a new life
unfortunately most of us die
before we are fully born
There were times
he felt peaceful
imagining that
his knowledge and wisdom
shared in his books
would be available in the libraries
all over the world
for students of life to read
and his dreams
would live in the hearts of his dear ones
who would share them with generations to come.
